Basic Financial Literacy Class

Our Program:

Join us at the Refugee Women’s Center for a 6-week financial literacy course just for refugee women! Our course will help you become more independent with money by covering three main areas: financial education, credit building, and job services.

Let’s work together to build a brighter future!!!

Course will be led by Eric Kessler, a long time business owner and certified life coach with practical accounting and bookkeeping experience and a desire to teach and help others.

Goals:

Through RWC’s Financial Literacy Program, participants will learn:

  • To better manage their finances and understand banking;

  • How to manage their household finances and expenses,

  • Understand paychecks and withholdings,

  • Open and maintain bank accounts, and

  • Create household and a long-term budgets

Course will also focus on exploration of creative business and employment options to supplement family incomes.

When: Wednesdays, September 11 through October 16

Time: 11am to 12:15pm

Location: Unitarian Society of Hartford (50 Bloomfield Avenue, Hartford, CT)
